Golfers Drop Opener

The girls varsity golf team lost its season opening match to Indian Creek, Wednesday, August 3, at Tameka Woods Golf Course. The Braves fired a 221, while the Eagles were a dozen strokes behind with a 233. Indian Creek's Hannah Emenhiser was the medalist with a 44. Senior Hannah deWeerdt led the Eagles with a 49. Junior Savannah Poling carded a 56, and sophomore Lilly VanNess took a 60. Freshmen Ava Stogsdill and Chloe Poling not only played in their first ever match, they played their first nine holes of golf ever. Stogsdill shot a 68, while Poling took a 70. The Eagles have two home tri-matches scheduled for next week. They host Edinburgh and Whiteland on Monday, August 8, and then entertain Brownstown Central and Edgewood on Tuesday, August 9.
