Austin and Sutter Compete at Boy's State Finals

By Kirk Wrightsman | Jun 2, 2023 11:35 PM

Senior Chase Austin and junior Wyatt Sutter finished out their 2023 track and field seasons at the state championship on Friday night. Austin finished 17th in the 1600 with a time of 4:22.42. The field went out very fast and Austin ran a 63 first lap. He had to move to the outside to try and move up through the field and was able to make several passes. This brings Austin's career at Brown County to a close. This was his second consecutive appearance in the 1600 at the state finals. Austin will attend Bellarmine University next fall to study finance and continue his running career. Sutter, who set a school record last week at the regional meet, had some trouble gripping the disc today and fouled his three attempts. Sutter made great strides during the outdoor season with his throwing and will work hard this summer to return and lead his team next spring. Congratulations to both Brown County athletes on your seasons and being track and field state finalists.
