Boys' Track Competes at Bloomington North Sectional

Thursday evening the boys' track team competed in the Bloomington North Sectional. The Eagles finished 8th in the 12-team field. Team scores are listed below. Senior Chase Austin was a automatic regional qualifier for the Eagles as he finished 3rd in the 1600 behind two runners who hit the state standard with the winner also setting a new sectional record. Austin's time of 4:21.70 was a personal record and will have him seeded 3rd at the Bloomington North Regional. Wyatt Sutter finished 4th is the discus with a toss of 144-8. Sutter's previous best was 126-10, so this was nearly an 18 foot PR! Sutter will move on to the regional as one of the four at-large qualifiers that come from the four sectionals moving into the Bloomington Regional. The Eagles will also have two relays that qualified as one of the four at-large team. The 4x8 team of Rafe Silbaugh, Case Smith, Cord Smith, and Austin finished 4th in 8:37.70, and the 4x4 relay team qualified as they also finished 4th in 3:37.69. Members of that relay were Silbaugh, Ethan Spiece, Cord Smith, and Austin.
