Boys' Track and Field Captures Two Wins at Talon Relays

The boys’ track and field team took part in their annual Talon Relays on Saturday. Overall, the Eagles were 5th in the meet.The early morning warmer temperatures turned a little chilly in the afternoon, but the Eagles came away with some good performances. On the day, the team came away with two relay winners. The DMR relay team of Chase Austin, Case Smith, Rafe Silbaugh, and Cord Smith ran away from the field, clocking an 11:29.38. Austin started the relay with a 3:16, Case Smith ran a 59 second 400, Silbaugh ran a 2:08 in the 800, and Cord Smith anchored with a 1600 in 5:05. The same group gave the Eagles another win later on in the 4x800. Silbaugh ran a 2:09, both Smiths were 2:16, and Austin ran 2 minutes even. A 55 second initial lap helped Austin close in on the Heritage Christian anchor and take the win. The Eagles scored 78 points on the day.
