Brownstown Central Too Tough for Eagle Golfers

The Brownstown Central Braves were simply too talented and too deep for the host Eagles Monday afternoon at Salt Creek Golf Retreat. The Braves posted a solid 163, while the Eagles struggled to their season high score of 213. "We knew they were very capable of posting some low numbers. They have an outstanding group of underclassmen led by freshman Micah Sheffer who took medalist honors with a one over par 37," said Eagle coach Brad Baughman. Baughman added, "Playing on our home course, I really expected our scores to be better. We have a few practices before our next event, so we will put this match behind us and get some things figured out before Saturday's tournament." Brown County Scoring: Clay Austin 49, Wesley Arndt 54, Jon Kirchhofer 54, Bradley Arndt 56, Liam Cassiday 62, and Will Hiatt 67. Next up for the golfers is the Artesian Classic, Saturday at Foxcliff Golf Course in Martinsville. Teams will tee off at 1:00 P.M. A very strong field awaits the Eagles. Teams competing Saturday include Austin, Brownsburg, Ritter, Southport, Franklin Central, Indy Genesis, Plainfield, Mooresville, Roncalli, New Palestine, and host Martinsville
