Ninth Place Finish for Golfers in Mustang Invitational

Playing in their first 18 hole event of the season, the Eagles posted a 394 and finished finished ninth in the twelve team Mustang Invitational Saturday at Cascades Golf Course in Bloomlngton. Junior Clay Austin was one of two Eagles who posted a personal best 18 hole score. Austin led the Eagles with an 85 that included a 39 on the back nine, the first sub 40 round of his career. Austin's score was 27 strokes better than the score he recorded in the same event last season. Sophomore Wesley Arndt also improved 27 strokes from last season in recording his career best score of 94. Sophomore Liam Cassiday, competing in his first 18 hole event, turned in a 103 to help the Eagles secure their ninth place finish. Senior Bradley Arndt carded a 112, while junior newcomer Will Hiatt posted a 115. "Playing conditions were ideal, and for the most part, I was pleased with our performance. It was especially nice to see Clay establish some rhythm with his game," said coach Brad Baughman. Brown County hosts Brownstown Central Monday, April 17. The Eagles will have their hands full, as the Braves finished second in the Mustang Invitational with an impressive 315.
