The boys track team finished 7th of 8 at the Columbus North Invitational. The Eagles finished ahead of Columbus East. The beautiful weather and high level of competition made for a great track meet. The state’s number one ranked team, Center Grove, won the competition with 141 total points. The meet started off with a 7th place scoring effort by the 4x8 team of Rafe Silbaugh, Kai Koester, Case Smith, and Cord Smith. In the 1600, Senior Chase Austin ran a season-best time of 4:25.80 in route to a 3rd place finish. The Eagles picked up some points in the sprint area with the 4x100 relay capturing 6th in a time of 49.81. That team consisted of Jacob Finley, Ethan Williams, Landon Scott and PJ McMasters. Silbaugh came back in the open 400 for the first time this season and ran a 54.90. Austin ran a 2:00.68 open 800 and finished 4th to earn 5 more points for his team. The Eagles finished the meet with a season-best in the 4x4 relay. The team of Silbaugh, Scott, Cord Smith, and Austin clocked a time of 3:43.95 to take 6th place. The Eagles will return to Columbus North on Tuesday night for a triangular meet with the Bull Dogs and Seymour.
