Boys Track Finishes Second in Triangular Meet

The boys track team finished 2nd to Martinsville last night in a triangular meet with the Artesians and Edgewood Mustangs. Martinsville finished with 72 points, the Eagles had 58, and Martinsville had 24. The night got started off right with a 4x8 win from the team of Rafe Silbaugh, Eli Wrightsman, Case Smith, and Cord Smith. The relay posted a time of 9:12.80. Landon Scott and Jacob Finley both scored in the 100 meter dash. Scott posted a 3rd place time of 12.05 and Finley was 4th in 12.10. In the 1600, Chase Austin took first with a time of 4:47.80 and Charlie Webb was 4th in 5:13.88. The 4x100 team finished 2nd in 49.57. Members of that squad were Finley, Scott, Ethan Williams, and PJ McMasters. The Eagles got a win in the 400 meters last night from Elijah LaVere in a time of 1:00.30 and Eli Webb was a close second in 1:00.84. Cord Smith was 2nd in 300 hurdles in a 48.38. In the 800, Silbaugh bettered his Tuesday night performance by 5 seconds in taking 1st place in a time of 2:09.29. Case Smith took 4th in the event in a time of 2:19.77. Scott clocked a time of 24.72 in the 200 to capture 2nd place. In the 3200, Austin placed 2nd in 9:52.95, and Webb broke under the 11 minute barrier with a 10:57.73. To close out the running events, the 4x400 finished in 2nd to the Artesians. The team of Silbaugh, Williams, Scott, and Cord Smith clocked a time of 3:51.86. In the field events, Case Smith won the high jump with a clearance of 5-4 and Jesse Hubbard took 2nd with a 5-2. The Eagles also got some team points in the throws. Wyatt Barnett was 3rd in the shot with a 40-6 and Wyatt Sutter was 4th in 36-7. In the discus, Sutter was 3rd in 115-4.25 and Westin Fulford was 4th with a toss of 100-10.5. The Eagles are back in action tomorrow at the Columbus North Invitational that starts at 11:00.
