The Eagles will get a brief break in their schedule after back to back home matches last week and a solid showing in the Western Indiana Conference (WIC) championships. On May 13, the Eagles posted a 181 and defeated the Hauser Jets who finished with a 195. Hunter Pappano fired an even par 36 to claim medalist honors for the Jets, but the Eagles had too much balance in their scoring. Wesley Arndt and Cash Harden each recorded a 43 to lead the Eagles. Other BCHS scores: Noah Lewis 46, Liam Cassiday 49, Finn Silbaugh 49, Colbie VanZuiden 51, Parker Arndt 52, and Cole Wright 63. The Eagles were back in action the next day hosting Indian Creek and Mooreville Christian Academy and came away with a split. Indian Creek posted a 164, while the Eagles recorded a 182, edging out MCA who took a 185. Once again it was Wesley Arndt and Cash Harden leading the way, each shooting a 43. Indian Creek's AJ Eminheiser was medalist with a 39. Brown County capped off the week on Saturday, May 17, with a sixth place finish in the eleven team WIC championships at Cascades Golf Course in Bloomington. This time it was senior Liam Cassiday who led the Eagles. Cassiday fired an 89, a score good enough to get him All Conference honors. Other BCHS scores: Cash Harden 93, Wesley Arndt 96, Parker Arndt 100, and Colbie VanZuiden 104. "Three of our five were playing in their first conference tournament, and Cash was playing in his first ever 18 hole competitive event, so a 378 was not bad," said Eagle head coach Brad Baughman. "I am very proud of and happy for Liam. He got off to a slow start this season and has been showing signs of finding his rhythm," added Baughman. Western Indiana Conference Results: Greencastle 325, Edgewood 339, Northview 349, Indian Creek 357, Sullivan 370, Brown County 378, Owen Valley 383, Cloverdale 384, West Vigo 386, North Putnam 428, and South Putnam 463. The Eagles will be back in practice mode until Thursday, May 22, when they travel to Stone Crest Golf Community to battle Eastern Greene.
