Gaining Experience Quickly

Slow Start. Fast Progress. We opened with back-to-back matches against two very strong programs—Bloomington South, last year’s sectional champion, and Greencastle, last year’s conference champion. Both teams returned 5 of their 7 varsity players, while we’ve stepped into this season with an entirely new varsity lineup—all without previous varsity experience. Despite the early challenges, our team responded well with a decisive 5-0 win over Columbus East on Friday night. On Saturday, we narrowly fell 3-2 to a solid Hauser squad, competing without two of our regular varsity starters. Our youth and inexperience have shown at times, but so has our growth. This team is learning quickly, building confidence, and gaining ground with every match. Tonight, we face Indian Creek—a conference rival who returns 5 of their 7 varsity players from last season. It’s another great test, and we’re excited to compete, continue growing, and represent Brown County tennis with grit and heart.
