In a tri-match held Wednesday afternoon at Salt Creek Golf Retreat, the Eagles fired a 212 to outdistance the visiting Hauser Jets who posted a 274 and the Edinburgh Lancers who had no team score with an incomplete team. For the eighth time in nine events, Brown County senior standout Lilly VanNess earned medalist honors. VanNess, who flirted with a school- record round on Tuesday, was not quite as sharp Wednesday and settled for a solid round of 40. Fellow senior Ava Sanders, who is splitting time with the soccer team, posted the Eagles' second best score with a 56. Other BCHS scores: Chloe Poling 57, Katie Johnson 59, and Caitlynn Lookebill 61. The schedule will get more difficult for the Eagles this Saturday when they compete in the twelve team Batesville High School Invitational at North Branch Golf Course in Greensburg, Indiana. Participating teams include Center Grove, Batesville, New Albany, Hamilton Southeastern, Greenfield-Central, Avon, Jennings County, Madison, Greensburg, Brown County, Speedway, and Providence. Individual golfers from Trinity Lutheran and Borden will also compete. Brown County is paired with Greensburg and Madison and will tee off on the Meadow Nine at 1:00 P.M.
