WIC Runner-Up for Golfers; VanNess is Conference Medalist

For the second consecutive year, the Eagles finished second in the Western Indiana Conference Championship, losing to the host team, Northview High School. And for the second consecutive year, the Eagles' Lilly VanNess claimed medalist honors, shooting a one over par 74. VanNess's 74 was ten strokes better than her nearest competitor and established a new Brown County HIgh School girls golf record for an an 18 hole event. The previous record was 77, held by Emma Bawinkel. The Eagles finished with a 401, 19 strokes better than last season, but 30 strokes behind the Northview Knights who posted a 371. Junior Chloe Poling turned in a 94, good for 5th place and all-conference honors. Poling posted a 43 on the front nine, her career best nine hole score. Sophomore Caitlynn Lookebill shot a 114, and senior Katie Johnson took a 119 to round out the Eagle scoring. The Eagles travel to Timbergate Golf Course on Tuesday, August 27, to take on the Southwestern High School Spartans. The match is scheduled for 4:30 P.M.
