Although the more experienced Knights were victorious, the Eagles have made significant progress this week. #1 singles player Owen East was once again asked to play at a high level as his opponent was very talented. He fought for every point and was playing a high level of tennis himself. Our #1 doubles duo of Trevor Shields and Jax Burt had the day's best match for the Eagles with 6-3 first set win and a couple of shots falling their way the 4-6 loss in the second set would have been reversed. They also were very close in the third set tie break eventually falling 8-10.Robert Webb came off the court in his #2 singles match encouraged as he was in most of the games. This is a huge improvement from earlier in the week. The same can be said for the #3 singles player, Audric Dunn as he also felt that he played his best match of the season. Logan Peck and Jack Keener at #2 doubles played a lot more consistently in their match. Our lone junior varsity player, Jax Anderson was asked to play numerous times, where he continues to improve and gain confidence even though his scores don't reflect it. This was a long week for the Eagles and they look forward to a much needed break next week before they travel to Bedford to take on the Stars, Thursday August 29th. The experience that these players are gaining is extremely valuable and will serve them well as they travel through the season. Coach Roush Record 0-4 WIC Record 0-2
