Brown County High School

The tennis season is upon us and the Eagles are ready to continue their pursuit of a WIC conference title. We have four returning players who have some varsity experience. This year's team is led by our two seniors, Owen East and Trevor Shields. Without a junior on the team the rest of the returning starters are a pair of sophomores, Jax Burt and Robert Webb. Owen East coming off a strong season last year at #2 singles will move up to take our top spot in #1 singles. Trevor will most likely bebe a part of our #1 doubles teaming up Jax Burt. Jax has worked hard on his game this summer and could be used at #2 singles, too. Robert Webb will share time at #2 and #3 singles. The remaining members of our squad are all freshmen. This class is led by Audric Dunn, and Jack Keener who will be in the mix for a singles position. The duo of freshmen Logan Peck and Jax Anderson will be gaining valuable experience at our #2 doubles position. Our freshmen will have an opportunity to play a lot of tennis this season, and I fully expect them to get better each match. Our team has shown that they are ready to carry the torch that has been handed down over the seasons and live up to the expectations that have been the hallmark of a Brown County Tennis player. This team will play hard and gain valuable experience from each chance that they step on the court. The Eagles open up Thursday with a scrimmage with Edgewood and the regular season starts on Tuesday, August 20th as the Eagles host three consecutive home matches, with Martinsville, Indian Creek, and Hauser.
