Cross Country Competes in WIC Championship

The boys and girls cross country teams competed in the WIC meet at Edgewood on Tuesday evening. The highlight of the night were two All-Conference performances by seniors Hadley Gradolf and Chase Austin. Gradolf finished third overall, clocking a time of 19:55. The competitive field got out fast very early and Gradolf held her position from the start. Megan Cumberledge finished in 29th with a time of 25:06. In a very close finish, Northview won the overall team championship for the girls. The race for the boys also got out very quickly. The Eagles were projected to finish in the top 4, and they came home with a 4th place finish. Edgewood took the overall title for the boys. Austin finished second overall in the race, with a time of 17:09. Case Smith was the next Eagle across the line in a time of 19:12. Charlie Webb finished just behind Smith in 27th with a time of 19:16. Rafe Silbaugh was 33rd in 19:46, Clay Austin was 36th in 20:15, and Kai Koester was 39th in 20:52. The Eagles will travel north this weekend to compete in the 40th annual Culver Invitational.
