The Lady Eagles Varsity Volleyball team had a tough week last week after suffering 2 regular season loses to Hauser (22-25, 21-25, 19-25) and Edinburgh (25-23, 23-25, 19-25, 21-25) followed by participation in a high profile tournament with some bigger schools that the Eagles also lost to: Avon (13-25, 13-25), Terre Haute South (17-25,9-25) and Terre Haute North (26-28, 18-25). The Eagles were reported to be a tough serving team with scrappy play in the Tribune Star on Sunday 9/18/22. This was great exposure to some higher level of play as the Eagles approach their schedule of away matches this week. The Eagles came away tonight with a sweep (25-10, 25-10 25-20) over Cloverdale advancing their WIC record to 4-1 and their overall record to 6-12. They travel to Greenwood on Thursday and finish the week off against the current WIC leader the Northview Knights on Saturday September 24th at Northview. The next home match will be on Tuesday 9/27/22 against WIC opponent and school rival Indian Creek. The school spirit student group, "The Way of The Eagle", has set the theme for next week as Space Jam and this is such a perfect theme to have as we will be celebrating an out of this world accomplishment achieved by senior Londyn Koester for breaking the school record for career digs during the Edinburgh match last week on 9/15/22. We will be presenting her with the game ball and we will record her final dig record on that ball after her last match. We are also going to try to have an adult cheer block at the home match where the adults will role model how cheering was done back in the day and faceoff with the student cheer block. You don't want to miss out on the fun on 9/27. Be at the Larry C Banks Memorial Gymnasium to cheer on your Lady Eagles! JV starts at 6pm and Varsity will follow immediately after the conclusion of the JV match.
