Track and Field Travels to Columbus East

The boys' track team had their last regular season road meet last night as they traveled to Columbus East to take on the host Olympians and the Shelbyville Golden Bears. The Eagles finished third overall (Shelbyville 81, East 54, BC 29). To start the night, the 4x8 team of Aden Skaggs, Charles Webb, Case Smith, and Corbin Brahaum finished first in a season-best time of 9:07.38. In the 1600, Brahaum found himself under the 5-minute mark clocking a 4:58.63 season best to capture 2nd. Eli Webb scored a point for the team in the 400 as he finished 4th in 1:01.90. The Eagles took 3rd and 4th place in the 800. Smith was 3rd in 2:16.74 and Eli Wrightsman was 4th in 2:18. Landon Scott ran a season-best 200 time of 24.92, placing 3rd. In the 3200, Charles Webb and Kai Koester worked together for a 2-3 finish. Koester was second in 11:06.41 and Webb was third in 11:07.63. In the field, Wyatt Sutter was 2nd in both the shot and disc. His shot was 38-9.5, and the disc was 124-4. In the high jump, Smith was 2nd at 5'2, and Jesse Hubbard was 3rd, also jumping 5'2. Koester was 4th in the vault at 8-0. The Eagles will have one last tune up on Thursday before WIC as they host Owen Valley. The meet is scheduled for 5:30 with senior recognitions happening at 5.
