The boys' track team finished 3rd in a quadrangular meet at Edgewood on Thursday. The host Mustangs won the meet followed by Indian Creek, Brown County, and Owen Valley. The Eagles scored 38 points and were competitive across the events. With just two weeks to go until WIC, this was a good 4-team test for the Eagles. The night started with a victory by the 4x800 team of Case Smith, Aden Skaggs, Eli Wrightsman, and Corbin Brahaum. The team had a season-best time of 9:16. In the 100, Landon Scott pulled out a 5th place finish to earn a point for his team. Brahaum did the same thing in the mile as he placed 5th and nearly broke the 5 minute barrier with a 5:00.37. With a 47.93 the 4x100 relay team of Ethan Williams, Carter Condon, Billy Hubbard, and Scott finished 3rd. In the 800, Smith came back from his relay and ran a 2:18.29 to finish 4th. Landon Scott finished in 24.98 in the 200 to earn 5th place, and the 4x400 relay team of Brahaum, Williams, Condon, and Scott secured two points with a 3rd-place finish. In the field, the Eagles were able to score several points. Wyatt Sutter finished 1st in the discus with a toss of 142-10, and in the shot, Sutter threw 41-3.5 to take second. Waylon Reeves also scored in the shot with a 5th-place finish. With a jump of 5-4 in HJ, Smith secured a 5th- place scoring finish, and in the vault, Wrightsman vaulted for the first time, taking first place with an 8-0 clearance. Kai Koester took 2nd in the vault with the same height. The boys will prepare for next Tuesday as they head to Columbus East to take on the host Olympians and the Shelbyville Golden Bears.
