Golfers Close Out Regular Season

The Brown County High School girls golf team played its last regular season match Wednesday at Timbergate Golf Course in Edinburgh. The Eagles shot a 211, right at their season average, but fell to Greenwood High School (190) and Edinburgh High School (204). Lilly VanNess recorded her best nine hole score of the season with a 44, good for runner-up medalist honors. Hannah deWeerdt sank a 30 foot birdie putt on her last hole on her way to a 47. Other Eagle scores: Ava Stogsdill 58, Savannah Poling 62, Chloe Poling 63. The golfers tee it up again Monday, September 19, in the IHSAA sectional at Cascades Golf Course in Bloomington. The Eagles, paired with Owen Valley High School, start on the Pine nine at 9:20 A.M.
