By Brad Baughman | Apr 14, 2024 12:00 AM

The Edgewood Mustang Golf Invitational expanded to 14 teams this spring, and the Eagles finished in the middle of the field. Brown County posted a 373, good for a 7th place tie with the host Mustangs. However, Edgewood grabbed the 7th spot on a fifth score tie-breaker, and the Eagles had to settle for 8th. The Eagles' Wesley Arndt recorded a couple career best scores. The junior fired a personal best 85 that included a 40 on his back nine, also a personal best. Jon Kirchhofer also recorded his career best 18 hole score with a 95. The 373 turned in by the Eagles was 20 strokes better than their score in last year's event. Other BCHS scores: Clay Austin 90, Liam Cassiday 103, Will Hiatt 118. The Eagles travel to Hickory Hills Golf Club just outside of Brownstown on Monday, April 15, to compete against the Brownstown Central Braves who won Saturday's tournament. Wednesday, April 17, Brown County will host Edgewood in a match that was rained out last week. Tournament Results: Brownstown Central 324, Greencastle 326, Northview 337, Boonville 341, Cloverdale 369, Orleans 371, Edgewood 373, Brown County 373, Indian Creek 385, Brownstown Central B 383, West Vigo 393, Eastern Greene 418, Owen Valley 427, and Clay City 437. Congratulations to Micah Sheffer from Brownstown Central for capturing medalist honors with a one under par 70.
