All- Area Basketball Players and Highlights

"Four Brown County High School basketball players represented their school Saturday night as members of the Republic All-Area basketball team. The team is chosen by Republic Sports Editor, Ted Schultz. First-team and honorable-mention student-athletes are invited to play in an annual All-Star game hosted by Columbus Christian. For the girls, Senior Lexie Austin and sophomore Ava Stogsdill played for the orange team, which also included athletes from Columbus East, Columbus Christian, Jennings County, and South Decatur. Austin came away with 6 points and Stogsdill had 4. The blue team consisted of players from Columbus North and Trinity Lutheran. Senior Anna Stogsdill was also named to the All-Area team which will be published in the paper this next weekend. For the boys, Cash Harden and Eli Wrightsman played for the gray team. Their team consisted of players from Jennings County and Edinburgh. They played two quarters against players from Columbus North, Columbus East, and Trinity Luthern and then played two more quarters against a team made up of Columbus Christian, Hauser, and South Decatur players. Harden came away with 9 points and Wrightsman contributed 11 points and 9 rebounds to the team. An article detailing the all-area team for the boys should also be printed next weekend."
