The Brown County High School boys golf team will begin the season with a roster of eight players - four seniors, two juniors, and two freshmen. The team will be led by senior Clay Austin, last season's Most Valuable Golfer. Austin should get scoring support from fellow seniors Jon Kirchofer and Will Hiatt, and juniors Wesley Arndt and Liam Cassiday, all of whom saw considerable varsity action last season. New to the squad are senior Cord Smith and freshmen Ayden Jackson and Colbie VanZuiden. "We return four of our top five players from last season, so I firmly believe we will be more competitive, and on a good afternoon, we could post a really nice score," said coach Brad Baughman, who is set to begin his 23rd year with the program. "In addition to becoming better ball strikers, our core players have played enough now that they should also have picked up some course management skills that will help them achieve some lower scores," added Baughman. The Eagles open their season with a home match against Hauser on Thursday, April 4.
