Step Into: Girls Basketball Where we are now and how we got here By Victor Moreno Morillo – The 9 players on our Girls Basketball Varsity Team are going against our rival, Indian Creek, Wednesday, January 31 in Sectionals. So, why don’t we take a look at how we got here in the first place. Season started with many, many conditioning practices. Running up and down the court, transforming movements into automatic routines, and giving everything you had. As opposed to that, today’s practices look quite different. The main focus is no longer on getting into shape (already done), but it is on technique and strategy. Less physically demanding, but not easier in any way. Defense is one of those focal points in practice today, as basketball is not only about scoring points, but about scoring more than the other team. – This next game is a crucial one in the season. So, make sure to show your support on Wednesday, January 31, 6:00 PM at Owen Valley High School. Finally, if you are interested in basketball, don’t be afraid to try it and have a great time next year on the Brown County Girls Basketball Team. You won’t regret it!
