XC Travels to Annual Mustang Invitational

Tuesday evening, the cross country teams competed in the annual Mustang Invitational at Edgewood. The girls got the night started off. Hadley Gradolf picked up a fourth place finish, running a 21:04. Livie Austin was the next Eagle finisher, running a 25:27 and placing 29th. Megan Cumberledge finished right behind Austin in 30th, clocking a time of 25:29. The boys finished 2nd in the 11 team field. The Eagles placed 5 runners in the top 11, but the host Mustangs placed 5 in the top 9 and finished 12 points ahead of the Eagles. Chase Austin was the individual champion in the boys race. Austin clocked a 16:53 and used a strong 2nd mile to break away from the 2nd place finisher. Cord Smith placed 7th, running 18:09. Following Smith was a trio of Eagles who showed how effective pack running can be: Case Smith was 8th in 18:23, Rafe Silbaugh was 10th in 18:34 and Charlie Webb finished 11th in 18:48. The Eagles will be at Columbus North Saturday for the annual Rick Weinheimer Invitational. This meet will be contested at Ceraland. Other Eagle finishers are listed below.
