Cross Country Competes at Franklin Invitational

On Saturday, the boys and girls cross country teams made their annual trip to the Franklin Invitational at Franklin Community High School. The day started with some good performances from the girls. Hadley Gradolf competed well against some solid runners up front. Gradolf was 4th in 19:24. The next runner in the chute for the Eagles was Sadie Hiatt who finished 67th in 23:07. Megan Cumberledge finished in 24:50 and Livie Austin covered the course in 25:27. For the boys, Chase Austin used another strong last 1000 meters to finish in 3rd place in 16:09. Cord Smith had a strong performance as the Eagle’s second finisher, finishing 24th in 17:42. Also with a strong last k was Rafe Silbaugh who made a strong push at the end to finish 42nd in 18:14. The top 5 for the Eagles was closed out by Charlie Webb who finished in 50th with a time of 18:27 and Case Smith finished just one place behind Webb in a time of 18:31. As team, the Eagles finished 7th out of 18. The Eagles will be in action again on Tuesday night this week as they compete in the Mustang Invitational at Edgewood.
