Brown County Athletics

Brown County hosted the Cross Country Sectional Saturday morning at Eagle Park. Seven Eagles qualified for the Evansville Regional next Saturday at Angel Mounds. The boys finished 8th as a team in the 14-team field. The top 5 teams qualify for the regional meet. The next 15 individuals not on one of the five qualifying teams advance on. 5 Brown County boys qualified. Charlie Webb led the way for the team, finishing 34th in 18:16. Eli Wrightsman was the next Eagle across the line in a personal-best time of 18:38. Just a couple seconds behind Wrightsman was Kai Koester who clocked a time of 18:40. Corbin Brahaum was the next Eagle in 19:02. Aden Skaggs rounded out the five qualifiers for the Eagles with a personal-best of 19:09. Josh Redmon and Carter Condon also ran for the Eagles finishing 20:22 and 21:26, respectively. For the girls, Sadie Hiatt and Izzy Miller had regional-qualifying performances. Both girls set career-best times. Hiatt finished 27th in 22:26 while Miller finished in 22:58. Della Hitchcock was just one position from qualifying for regionals, finishing in 23:33. Megan Cumberledge also ran for the Eagles, finishing in 24:33. Next week’s Evansville Regional will begin at 10:30 CT/11:30 am ET.
