Brown County posted its best 18 hole score of the season, a 345, en route to a fourth place finish in the eight-team Western Indiana Conference tournament Wednesday at Cascades Golf Course in Bloomington. Two Eagles, sophomore Parker Arndt with an 81 and junior Colbie VanZuiden with an 84, finished in the top ten to earn All-Conference honors. Freshman Carter Hawley turned in an 85, his best round of the season, while sophomore Finn Silbaugh took a 95, and freshman Rilan Purlee finished with a 101 to cap the Eagle scoring. "We did not play well Tuesday in our quad match, so to bounce back today in a meaningful event the way we did was very gratifying. Parker, Colbie, and Carter played some solid golf. That 345 was 33 strokes better than our score last season in the WIC here at Cascades. I am extremely proud of these guys," said Brad Baughman, Eagle coach. Brown County goes right back to Cascades Monday, June 8, to compete in the IHSAA Sectional. The Eagles are paired with Owen Valley and Salem and will tee off at 8:00 am on the Pine nine. Western Indiana Conference Team Results: Edgewood 329, Northview 338, Sullivan 340, Brown County 345, Owen Valley 361, West Vigo 367, Cloverdale 368, and South Putnam 400.
