The Eagles made the long trek to Westwood Country Club in New Castle Saturday to play in the New Castle Invitational and came home with a fifth place finish in the six team field. Team Scores: New Castle #1 324, Providence 330, Lawrence North 351, Blackford County 376, Brown County 380, New Castle #2 425. "We hit some high quality shots and had some impressive moments, but we were very inconsistent and also wasted a lot of shots. We should have been 15 to 20 strokes better than what we were," stated Brad Baughman, Eagle coach. "We did have some highlights. Colbie VanZuiden, who led us with a 90, nearly aced the tough, uphill, 201 yard par 3 number two hole but had to settle for a tap in birdie. Then, a few holes later, two of our players hit balls that became lodged fifteen feet up in a giant pine tree, added Baughman. Other BCHS scores: Parker Arndt 92, Rilan Purlee 94, Nicklaus Arndt 104, and Carter Hawley 106. Brown County hosts the Mitchell Bluejackets Wednesday, May 27 at 5:00 pm.
