The Brown County High School girls golf team placed fifth in the eleven team Jasper High School Invitational Saturday at Buffalo Trace Golf Course, posting a 430, 24 strokes better than their score last Saturday in the Columbus East Invitational. Lilly VanNess and Hannah deWeerdt led the Eagles with a 97 and 99 respectively. Savannah Poling and Ava Stogsdill each turned in a 117, while Chloe Poling carded a 129. "Buffalo Trace is long and hilly. There are some tough holes. Only Lilly and Hannah played there last year, so it was definitely a huge challenge for the other three," said Eagle co-coach Brad Baughman. Tournament Results: Gibson Southern 351, Jasper 362, Bloomington South 416, Southridge 423, Brown County 430, Forest Park 433, South Spencer 434, Springs Valley 462, Tecumseh 475, North Harrison 510, Crawford County NTS. Next up for the Eagle golfers is a home tri-match with South Putnam and Monrovia on Wednesday, August 24.
