Golfers Post Season Low Score but Drop Tr-Match

By Brad Baughman | Apr 15, 2026 12:00 AM

The Eagles posted their best nine hole score of the young season, a 179, but fell to Martinsville (152) and Indian Creek (160) in a tri-match Tuesday at Bluff Creek Golf Course. Freshman Rilan Purlee fired a 42, his best round of the year, to lead Brown County. Sophomore Parker Arndt was just one stroke behind him with a 43, while freshman Carter Hawley posted a personal best 46. Junior Colbie VanZuiden and sophomore Finn Silbaugh each recorded a 48. "Martinsville and Indian Creek have some really solid golfers, so I figured they both would drop some low scores. Colbie was a bit off his game, but the rest of the team played well, and I was pleased with our team score," said Brad Baughman, Eagle coach. The Eagles will compete in the fifteen-team Edgewood Mustang Invitational this Saturday at Cascades Golf Course in Bloomington. The Eagles are paired with Cloverdale, Eastern Greene, and West Washington and will tee off at 9:00 a.m.
