Tenth Place Finish for Golfers in Franklin Central Invitational

Brown County posted a score of 439 and finished 10th in the fifteen-team Franklin Central Invitational at Smock Golf Course this past Saturday in Indianapolis. The Eagles were led again by Lilly VanNess, whose 84 was good for 8th place overall in the highly competitive field. Chloe Poling had a solid round for the Eagles, turning in a 101. Caitlin Seet posted a 126, while Savannah Poling took a 128 to account for the Eagle scoring. Caitlynn Lookebill had a 137. Tournament Results: Center Grove 325; Bedford North Lawrence 339; Brownsburg 339; Plainfield 346; Avon 352; Zionsville 378; Franklin Central Blue 404; Southport 436; Guerin Catholic 438; Brown County 439; Perry Meridian 449; North Central 468; Warren Central 470; Franklin Central White 479; Lawrence North 479; Pike 480. The Eagles close out the regular season Wednesday, September 13, when they take on Greenwood and Edinburgh in a tri-match at Valle Vista Golf Course in Greenwood. Then, they will focus on preparation for the IHSAA Sectional Monday, September 18, at Cascades Golf Course in Bloomington. Thursday, September 14, at 5:45 P.M. following practice, the Eagles will honor their lone senior, Savannah Poling, in one of the upstairs rooms at Salt Creek Golf Retreat.
