Brown County 2 Trinity Lutheran 3 The Eagles fall to the Cougars of Trinity Lutheran by a score of 2 matches to 3. This was the Eagles senior night and the line up was a little different than normal. This team has relied so much on this group of seniors for the last couple of years and the addition of a one and done. The group is led by our #1 singles player Jack Sichting. Jack has been around the court for the last 6 years and his leadership is evident as he was a valuable asset in recruiting our baseball players, such as Sawyer Gore. Sawyer came to us last year and has really contributed not only on the court but with his enthusiasm and support of his teammates. Jon kirchhofer has also been a valuable asset as a player that will play any position you ask him too, but he seems to have found a fondness for doubles. Where Jack is our quiet leader, Jon has taken the role of our team spokesman and he has done a masterful job. Ha also was very helpful in getting our one and done, player Cord Smith. Cord came to us from a successful running career. It has taken him an adjustment period, but he has made up for that with his willingness to try both doubles and singles. Our last senior player has really been a fixture on the courts since his 7th grade year when Brandon Saechao decided to take a chance on a sport he really knew nothing about. That decision finds him still working hard on his game, especially at our #3 singles position. Our last two seniors are our managers, Atheena Doughty and Ashlynn Mercer. They will be celebrated in a much greater fashion at the girls tennis senior night in the spring. We couldn't have survived the last season without them. This entire group, seniors and the rest of the team have represented themselves as fulfilling the expectations that have been the hallmark of a Brown County Tennis player. I fully expect them to all do great things as the traverse away from the game they have played for years. They have set the bar high for our younger players and future players.
