Cross Country Has Successful Day at Rick Weinheimer Classic

The cross country teams competed in the annual Rick Weinheimer Invitational Saturday at Ceraland. Columbus North served as the host for the meet. The Eagles posted several season and career bests on Saturday morning. The boys finished 7th out of 20 schools in the small school division. The small school division was won by Oak Hill Academy. Charlie Webb crossed the line first for the Eagles, running an 18:03 and finishing 31st overall. Eli Wrightsman was the next Eagle to cover the 5k course, running an 18:42 to finish 44th. Corbin Brahaum and Kai Koester followed close behind, finishing in 18:51 and 18:56, respectively. Carter Condon rounded out the scoring for the Eagles, as he crossed in 20:48. Other Eagle finishers are listed below. The girls finished the day 11th of 14 teams in the small school division. Tell City won the small school team title. Pacing the Eagles for the day was Sadie Hiatt. Hiatt covered the course in a 24:18 to finish 47th. Her teammate, Livie Austin came through next, as she ran 25:00 to finish in 54th. The freshmen duo of Della Hitchcock and Charly Eddins ran 3rd and 4th for the Eagles. Hitchcock posted a time of 25:32 and Eddins was 25:43. Megan Cumberledge rounded out the Eagle scoring with a time of 25:49. The Eagles will have a week to prepare for the annual Eagle Classic which will be contested September 9 at Eagle Park.
