The Eagles startred off the season with a 3-2 victory over the Artesians from Martinsville. With a third set 6-4 victory by #2 singles player Owen East the singles players completed a sweep of the three singles positions. #1 singles player Jack Sichting defeated Carter Dawson 6-4, 6-1, Jax Burt playing his first varsity singles match at #3 singles defeated Calvin Johnson 6-2, 6-0. East provided the excitement and winning point with is 3 set victory over Keller Boyd 6-4, 6-7(1), 6-4. The Eagles doubles teams were also close with #1 doubles team of Jon Kirchhofer and Trevor Shields losing by the score of 4-6, 2-6 and #2 doubles team of Brandon Saechao and Sawyer Gore being defeated 4-6, 6-7(3). The Eagles will be back on the courts as they travel to Indian Creek on Friday, August 18 in a WIC battle and then turn around and host another WIC foe in Northview on Saturday, August 19.
