In its last regular season match, the Brown County High School girls’ golf team put four players in the 40’s for the first time this season and narrowly defeated a formidable Edinburgh Lancer team 185 – 196 at Deer Valley Golf Course Wednesday afternoon.
Leading the way for the Eagles was senior Allison Stogsdill with a 45, while fellow senior Aubrey Hollander fired a personal-best 46, and sophomores Ainslie Winton and Annika Evenson carded a 46 and 48 respectively, also personal- best scores.
“It was truly a strong team performance against a solid Edinburgh team that had just claimed the Mid-Hoosier Conference championship title this past Saturday,” said Brown County co-coach Brad Baughman. With the win, the Eagles improved their dual and tri-meet record to 10 wins and 2 losses.
Other BCHS scores: Avery Patterson 50, Taylor Poling 54, Abby Padgett 54, and Savannah Oden 69.
The Eagles will compete in the IHSAA Sectional Monday, Septemer 23, at Cascades Golf Course in Bloomington. Paired with Bloomington North and Edgewood, the Eagles will tee off at 8:30 A.M. on the Pines.
