On a night when the Lady Eagles struggled to put points on the board they were able to rely on their defense to help pull out the win. A strong defensive effort in the 1st half held the visitors from Monrovia to just 7 points. But the Lady Bulldogs came storming back in the 3rd quarter and cut the lead to 21-18 heading into the final quarter. A tightly contested early part of the quarter then saw BC go on a run to up the lead to 10 midway through the 4th quarter. Monrovia had one final run in them and actually took a one point lead with just under 2 minutes to go. The Lady Eagles held strong and ended up with one final possession with just over 20 seconds remaining. Anna Fleetwood took advantage and drove hard to the rim and drew a foul sending her to the line. She calmly knocked down both free throws to give the Lady Eagles a one point lead. Monrovia followed up with a turnover and a foul to send BC back to the line with 5 seconds on the clock. In spite of missing the front end of the one-and-one, a last second 3 point attempt from the top of the key rattled off the rim and sent the Lady Eagles to victory.

It was also a special night as the Lady Eagles honored seniors Kathleen McCann and Savannah Lovins for their dedication to the program.
