The eagles took the court against another WIC foe in the Mustangs of Edgewood tonight and came away with a 5-0 victory. All of the eagles seemed to be clicking tonight. Our #2 doubles team of Reid and Eli were really working well together and claimed the eagles first win. Aidan Burt claimed the second team win with a convincing victory at #3 singles. The winning point came down to a race between #2 singles player, Josh Miller and the #1 doubles team of Spencer and Noah. Josh playing his cool under fire style finished first and gave the eagles a 3-0 lead. Spencer and Noah coming off a slight let down last night, had to come back from a 5-6 set score. They evened it at 6 and then cruised to a 7-0 win in the tie break. Our final point once again came down to #1 singles player Nolan Patterson who would take the turn 5-4, but lost the next two games to go down 6-5, but some big service points, brought the game score to 6-6. In the tie break each player had leads, but Nolan came out with a big serve to seal a 5-0 victory for the eagles and an important WIC win.
The jv also represented BC Tennis well as a couple of new freshmen, Brandon Saechao and Jon Kirchoffer got to travel with the team and play both singles and doubles, although they didn’t win they got to see their competition for the next few years. Jack and Austen, our mainstays on the jv team also played well in their doubles match. The eagles get some time off due to schedule and opponents not being able to field a team this year. Up next for the eagles is the eagles of South Putnam in a WIC match a week from Saturday in the eagles nest of BCHS.
