The eagles beat a small but determined lancer team from Edinburgh tonight 4-1. The eagles were able to take advantage of a short-handed lancer team as they were playing without their regular #2 singles player to give playing opportunities to some different players. Senior John Oliver was paired with junior Austen Deckard and came away with a win. Freshman Jack Sichting, playing at #3 singles earned his first varsity win. This one of many to come. The doubles duo of seniors Noah Cochran and Spencer Blee continued to play some inspired doubles. Junior Josh Miller was nearly flawless in his victory at #2 singles. Our lone loss was at #1 singles as senior Nolan Patterson was defeated by a very solid hitter in Edinburgh’s Max Blandford. The eagles will enjoy a brief break, before they host Southwestern Shelby and Corydon Central on Saturday and wrap up the season on the road at Edgewood to play White River Valley on Tuesday. On Monday night the eagles will find out what their postseason draw looks like. Once again we are thankful to get to play the game we love.
