The eagles traveled to Edgewood to face the golden arrows from Sullivan in their final WIC match of the season. Although slightly disappointed with with a 5-3 finish and outside shot at third place, the eagles finished with a 5-0 win. It is always good to end your conference season with a win. This group of players tonight all seemed to start a little slow and then picked up the pace as their matches progressed. With yet another line up change the eagles came away with the victory. Josh Miller at #1 singles continued to do what he does best, just hit shot after shot and win. Aidan had a little misstep in the first set, but rebounded nicely and completed a comeback win. Noah getting another chance to play singles, just continued to battle for each point and wore his opponent down. Our biggest switch came in the doubles department with Nolan pairing with Eli and Spencer playing alongside Austen. After a 0-3 start to their match, Nolan and Eli reeled off a 12-1 game streak to win their match. True to form, Spencer and Austen played the longest match of the night and were rewarded with a 7-5, 7-6 victory. With such a small team, the jv was limited to just two matches, but each player Jack and Daylen got more match experience.
The eagles will play Thursday as they host the Lancers of Edinburgh.
