The Brown County High School golf team closed out its season Monday, June 4, at the Bloomington Country Club finishing eighth in the twelve team IHSAA sectional field. Bloomington South, playing on its home course, won the event, shooting a 324. Bedford North Lawrence and Bloomington North finished second and third respectively. All three teams will advance to the IHSAA regional round Thursday, June 7, at Champions Point in Henryville, IN.

Also advancing to the regional will be the Eagles’ Parker VanNess, whose score of 78 was the best of any individual from a non-advancing team. The junior tied for third but fell to fourth when he lost a sudden death tiebreaker to Ethan Stanley of Bedford North Lawrence. VanNess will be making his third consecutive trip to the regional.

Senior Ben Rygiel (100), junior Curtis Lookebill (105), and sophomore Brendon Asher (116) competed and scored for the Eagles.

VanNess’s tee time had not yet been announced at the time of this posting.
