Parker VanNess claimed medalist honors with a two under round of 34 and three other BCHS golfers came in under 50 to help the Eagles post a competitive team score of 175. Unfortunately, the victorious, visiting Whiteland Warriors were just too deep and talented, recording no score higher than a 43 on their eight man roster.
The Warriors’ Zach Ricketts finished three shots behind VanNess to capture the runner-up medalist honors. For the Eagles, Ben Rygiel 44, Brendon Asher 48, and Curtis Lookebill 49 contributed to the scoring. Other BCHS scores: Peyton Proctor 53, Rex Watters 65, Jake Huddleston 65, and Emerey Brock 68.
Brown County, nearing the end of its schedule, plays Edgewood Thursday, May 24, at Cascades Golf Course in Bloomington, and hosts Morristown Tuesday, May 29, at Salt Creek Golf Retreat. Ben Rygiel, the lone senior on this year’s team, will be honored following that match.
The IHSAA sectional is scheduled for Monday, June 4, at Bloomington Country Club. The Eagles will tee off at 8:00 A.M. on hole #10 with Trinity Lutheran and Brownstown Central.
