Boys Varsity Cross Country, Girls Varsity Cross Country · Cross Country Competes at Franklin Invitational


The BCHS Cross County teams took part in the Franklin Invitational on Saturday, August 29. Abby Fleetwood got the Eagles off to a good start.  Fleetwood finished 3rd overall, running a 19:47 on the 5k course.  Fellow teammate, Hadley Gradolf captured a top 10 finish, finishing 10th in 20:43.  The Eagles also received good performances from Emma DeBord who ran 23:04 and Madalyn Purlee, who clocked a personal best of 23:34.  The Eagles rested two runners, so they didn’t have a team score.

The Eagles finished 11th of 17 on the boy’s side.  Chase Austin had a great performance for the Eagles as he finished 5th overall in an impressive time of 16:47.  Cord Smith also had a strong finish for the Eagles as he clocked a time of 18:44.  Rhett Silbaugh improved his 2019 Franklin time by nearly two minutes, crossing in 18:55.  Blake Wagler and Waylon Patrick worked well together through the race.  Wagler finished in 19:34 and Patrick ran 19:38 to round out the scoring for the Eagles.  Performances from the rest of the Eagles are listed below.  Tuesday night the Eagles will head to Edgewood to take part in the Mustang Invitational.
