BCHS senior Parker VanNess competed for the fourth consecutive year in the IHSAA golf regional at Champions Pointe Golf Club, recorded his best score, a 78, but came up a few strokes short in qualifying for the state tournament.
VanNess used great shot making and wise decision making to shoot an even par 36 on the front nine. A double bogey on #10 and a string of bogeys thereafter bumped his back nine score to a six over 42, and his total of 78 was four strokes higher than needed to advance. The BCHS senior, 2019 WIC medalist and school scoring record holder, was unable to card a birdie during the round. He leaves the BCHS golf program as one of its most distinguished golfers.
VanNess will continue his golf career next year at Marian University and will compete this summer in various amateur events throughout the state.
