Eagles News · Phelps and McPheeters Lead Eagles to 4th Place Sectional Finish

The boys track and field team equaled their best team finish ever at the Bloomington North Sectional.  The host Cougars took the team title, but the Eagles had a strong team performance, finishing 4th with 52 points.  The meet was delayed for a hour and half due to severe weather, but coming out of the break, things quickly picked up for the Eagles.  Senior Dale Phelps took 2nd place in both the 110 and 300 meter hurdle races. Fellow senior, Jackson McPheeters, had a big drop in his 800 time and finished third to secure an automatic qualifying spot in next week’s regional.  Due to the severe weather, all of the three other feeder sectionals were delayed until Friday night.  The Eagles will have to wait until Saturday to see which other athletes qualify.  The regional meet will be hosted by Bloomington North next Thursday, May 23rd.  Below, you will see all of the Eagle scorers listed:
