The Brown County girls’ golf team made history Monday with a third place finish in the IHSAA sectional at Cascades Golf Course in Bloomington that will send them to the regional for the first time since the program’s inception next Saturday at Country Oaks Golf Course in Montgomery, Indiana.

The Eagles shot a 392 to grab the third spot behind runner-up Bloomington South (367) and champion Martinsville (314). Senior Ashley Masteller fired an 86 to lead the Eagles, while freshman Ainslie Winton recorded her best 18 hole score of the season with a 92. Juniors Allison Stogsdill and Taylor Poling carded a 104 and 110 respectively, and freshman Abby Padgett had her season best with a 120.
