The 2018 boys’ golf team will play ten of its eighteen scheduled events at home this season, including the BC Shiner Invitational scheduled for Saturday, April 7, at Salt Creek Golf Retreat. The past two seasons, the Eagles had traveled to Rising Star Golf Links in Rising Sun to compete in the Shiner Invitational. Rising Sun High School was unable to secure its home course for the invitational this season, so the Eagles decided to step in and host the ten team tournament. Thanks to Ben VanNess and the Salt Creek Staff for agreeing to take this on. Brown County has one scheduled match before the invitational, a home contest with Hauser on Thursday, April 5.
The first official practice date set by the IHSAA is Monday, March 12. However, the Eagles will not get started until Monday, March 19, when students return to school from spring break. Any BCHS boy interested in trying out this season should visit the athletic office to get his name on a list. All required IHSAA and school forms must be completed and on file to be eligible for participation. Transportation to the course will be provided each afternoon for those students who do not drive or whose parents are unable to transport them. Practices usually last until 5:30 or 6:00, and students should be picked up at the course.
