Multiple Teams · XC Boys Move On To Semi-State, Three Girls Advance

The Brown County Boys’ Cross Country team had a great fall break with a fourth place finish at the regional meet. They advanced to the Brown County semi-state cross country meet for the first time since 2009. Pacing the Eagles were Wyatt Wyman placing 12th, Jackson McPheeters placing 14th and Marino Dolph in 15th place. Having three runners in the top fifteen is the main reason why the Eagles advanced. Wyatt Wyman gutted out a strong race after twisting his ankle on Wednesday at practice. Look for him to rebound after giving him another week to rest his ankle.

The boys’ team qualified for their tenth Semi-State meet and will be looking for a strong finish to a great season. The Eagles current record is 137-18.  Look for the Eagles to run well for the last run at Eagle Park this season.

The girls’ cross country team ended their season with a sixth place finish at Brown County Regional meet. The team was just twelve points out of the fifth place and fourteen points out of third place. The team was very close to moving on but just could not make it as a team. The good news is that three lady Eagles will be running at the Semi-State meet on Saturday. Even better news is that all three of those runners are freshman and will gain the experience of running in that race. The three who moved on are Eme Koester placing 6th, Anna Fleetwood placing 16th and Emma DeBord in 22nd place.
