The boys’ team put in quite a few miles this week and not all of them came in meets or practice. They competed in two invites that are on opposite ends of the state of Indiana. On Tuesday night they ran in the Silver Dragon Invite (which is only a few miles away from Kentucky) and placed third in the eighteen team field. The only two teams to beat them were Jeffersonville and Seymour. The hilly southern Indiana course took its toll on the boys. “I believe the long bus ride and the humid conditions added to the slow times on Tuesday night” Coach Abraham stated. The Eagles were lead once again by Wyatt Wyman 3rd, Marino Dolph 6th and Jackson McPheeters 7th.
Yesterday, the boy’s team competed in the closed race at the Culver Invite (which is located less than fifty miles away from Michigan). The boys placed fourth in the thirty-seven team field. Culver changed the starting times of the races to accommodate for the heat and humidity. The boys raced at 9:50 a.m. before the heat/humidity could affect their races much. The Eagles placed their top three runners in the top sixteen of the field of 253 runners. The team now has a week to get ready for the Western Indiana Conference Meet at Cascade HS next weekend.
- The boys team is currently ranked 93rd in the state as reported by INCCSTAT.com
