It was a long night for the eagles over at Shelbyville. The teams had to wait out two lightening delays before they had the opportunity to run on the Shelbyville Semi-State course. With only fifteen minutes warm-up the eagles took advantage of the famed course. Since we were unsure about getting two races in, the coaches decided to run one combined race.
Leading the eagles on the boy’s side was Wyatt Wyman and Marino Dolph. It was fun to see the eagles go one two in the three-way meet with Shelbyville and Greensburg. Jackson McPheeters, Timmy Kilburn and Jordan Dolph finished off the scoring with places 5,10 and 11 respectfully. Jordan and Marino both made a critical pass in the last 400 meters of the race to secure the win. This was a nice win for the boy’s team.
Anna Fleetwood and Emilia Koester were the top two runners in the meet for the eagles both placing in the top five overall in the meet. Last year this time the eagles did not even have a team score. The lady eagles ran well for having to warm-up a couple of times before getting a chance to compete. Look for runners to drop time as we have the opportunity to run in a few more races.
Next Meet: Franklin Invite Saturday the 26th.
